Hello everyone,
Just a quick reminder that the POWSA AGM is happening this Thursday 23rd October, 19:45 in the school staff room.
This is a great opportunity to meet the current POWSA committee, find out about what we do for the school and enjoy some homemade goodies!!
We are a committed but small band of parents and we are always looking for new members. The level of your involvement in planning, implementing and running POWSA events is entirely up to you. We don't expect you to be at every meeting and every event from start to finish, but, with more members and if we all do a little bit, then there is plenty of time for us all to enjoy each event with our families as well as helping out!
It is a lot of fun, and in return, you receive a huge sense of satisfaction and feeling of pride that you have helped raise funds which are used to helped all our children and our fantastic school.
Please consider coming and finding out a bit more,
Hope to see you there

The Prince of Wales School County Fair
Saturday 5th July 2014
To make the most of our special party POWSA are running a COUNTRY FAIR and we need your support to make it a success – and maybe you could be the ‘best in show’.
So dust off that camera – put on a pinny – and get the needles stitching!
You can enter as many times as you like – in as many categories as you like. All we ask is that any edible produce can be sold in the cafe to raise funds on the day. All entries can be bought to the school between 9:30 and 12 on the day of the show. Judging (with our special guests) will take place between 12 and 3pm and the winners will be announced at the party, and on the school website.
The categories are:
Photo competition – the theme is either ‘Dorset’ or ‘The Prince of Wales School’ – the choice is yours. Printed photos please – either 6x4; 7x5 or A4 size). POWSA is hoping to produce a commemorative calendar ready for Christmas using the winning entries. Under 13’s will be judged separately.
Under 13’s will have a separate competition for all of the following:
Cakes and Bakes – any sweet bake – big cakes, little cakes, tray bakes etc.
Savoury bakes – pies, tarts, breads etc
Biscuits – Sweet or savoury.
Pickles and preserves – jams, chutney jellies etc.
Knitting – any knitted item of your choice – item will be returned if required

You can still enter the show, even if you are not able to come to the party itself.

Christmas Fair
Hi there everyone.Well, we have been busy planning this years Christmas fair, So busy in fact, that we forgot to send out a letter on Friday informing you all that it is non school uniform day on Friday. Like last year we ask for a contribution of a bottle or box of chocolates to be delivered into Mr Farringtons office on Friday morning, ready to become prizes for the tombolas!! Please may we ask that you just chat about this to as many parents as you see in the next few days, we would hate for someone not to get the message and come in uniform!
Also don't forget to return your raffle ticket stumps and money to the school office, last chance is this Friday.
School events are great fun, and always help raise much needed funds for our school, but they don't happen without the help and support of you, the parents. If you can, we would be grateful for any volunteers on Friday, either helping to set up/ pack down or run a stall. Just half an hour can make a huge difference and it is a lot of fun.
Thanks again for all your support,
Looking forward to seeing you all on Friday

Father Christmas is coming.
We are POWSA are very exciting because we have just had confirmation that Father Christmas is able to attend this years Christmas Fair. As a consequence, we are planning on setting up a nice cosy space for him to meet all our little ones (and not so little ones). We were wondering if anyone has a suitable fireside/throne-like/Grandpa chair that we could borrow on that evening (6th December) for our very special guest to use?If you think you do have a suitable piece of furniture either speak to one of the POWSA team or mention it to the school office who will be able to pass the message onto us.
Many Thanks
Kate and the POWSA team
