We're all busy preparing for the frantic end of term period, there are the school play to look forward to, the parties to prepare and that's before we think about the visit of Santa himself
For those of you lucky enough to have tickets to the opening day at the PoW theatre hall look out for the POWSA stall where you can still pick up a last minute treat, be it a Plum pudding, calendar or one of the delightful gifts made by year 4. For the rest of us with tickets to the later performances don't worry, if there's anything left we'll make sure it's on sale on Wednesday and Thursday as well.
Merry Christmas!

FREE Christmas Trees
That's right, our friends at the RSPB in Arne are having their annual "Pull a Pine" day and they are giving away Christmas trees for free. They are completely free, all you have to do is turn up, pull a few pines and then, hey presto, a free tree.

Prince Charles' Visit & Plum Puddings
Now there's a title you don't expect to write everyday.
For those of you who missed the visit of HRH Prince Charles ( I like to think of him as the POW in POWSA now) have a look at the video on the Echo's page linked here, it sums it up perfectly and the children all enjoyed it immensely.
As ever a big thank you to all the staff at the school who made sure the event ran seamlessly and to the children who's enthusiasm for the visit was obvious for all to see.
We also have half a dozen plum puddings and half a dozen Chocolate puddings available for those who have not ordered theirs yet, make sure you snap them up soon as once they're gone they're gone.

Apologies but the ditty,
that was supposed to be witty,
has been found, actually,
incorrect factually.
Please note that the quiz starts at 6pm and not 5pm as originally stated.
Thanks

Hello & THANKYOU
POWSA would like to say a HUMUNGOUS "Thank You". Your support last year helped us raise a substantial amount of money, which we have been able to invest back into the school.
Our major donation last year was £1500 to support the school library, which is now stocked with some really fantastic books. It's great to see how parent input can really benefit the facilities our children get to enjoy at our fab school :)
We are looking forward to raising even more money to help the school and our community, with your support this year. We will keep you up to date with the fundraising, how the money is used, and most importantly how you can help as the year progresses.
One quick and easy way to help is by shopping!! If you register with Easy Fundraising and buy online goodies from Amazon, John Lewis or M&S (and over 200 other retailers) POWSA receives a donation. All it costs you is 2 minutes of your time to register and the benefit stays right here with the school. http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/powsa
Finally thanks to those of you who gave up your time to help us over the last 12 months, we really appreciate everyone's efforts and volunteers are always richly rewarded with tea or coffee and even the odd cake so feel free to ask any of the POWSA team if you can spare some time to help us in the future.

POWSA AGM
Hello everyone,
Just a quick reminder that the POWSA AGM is happening this Thursday 23rd October, 19:45 in the school staff room.
This is a great opportunity to meet the current POWSA committee, find out about what we do for the school and enjoy some homemade goodies!!
We are a committed but small band of parents and we are always looking for new members. The level of your involvement in planning, implementing and running POWSA events is entirely up to you. We don't expect you to be at every meeting and every event from start to finish, but, with more members and if we all do a little bit, then there is plenty of time for us all to enjoy each event with our families as well as helping out!
It is a lot of fun, and in return, you receive a huge sense of satisfaction and feeling of pride that you have helped raise funds which are used to helped all our children and our fantastic school.
Please consider coming and finding out a bit more,
Hope to see you there

Judging (with our special guests) will take place between 12 and 3pm and the winners will be announced at the party, and on the school website.
The categories are:

Under 13’s will have a separate competition for all of the following:
