Christmas is coming!

As we are all well aware, Christmas is fast approaching, and along with the Christmas fair, card writing, cake making, mince pie eating, house cleaning and decorating, Christmas party invites, carol concerts and performances (you get the idea!) there is the present shopping.  POWSA can't make this any easier, but we can make you feel a bit better about it by reminding you about easy fundraising.  When you buy on-line from the selected retailers, a small percentage comes to us here at school at no extra cost to you! It free money that we can use to buy the all important items for the children here at The Prince of Wales school.  All you have to do is sign up at easyfundraising.org.uk and get shopping. Please check it out.

Welcome back!

Hi there everyone, hope you all had a fun filled, jam packed half term.
As I'm sure you'll remember, just before we broke up for half term, the school experienced non ICT day.  There are varied reports about computer usage but generally everyone seemed to be very well behaved! Altogether, we collected £27.26, a ruler, 2 rubbers, 3 pencils, a tissue and an i.o.u from Mickey Mouse!  I have been reliably informed that the stationary has been returned to the appropriate classes, the tissue has found the bin and at the time of writing we wait to hear from Mr M. Mouse!
Please keep checking the blog for up to date information about all things POWSA, how you can help and how we spend the money.
Thanks for all your support,
Kate

Christmas Puddings

Just a quick reminder that today is your last chance to pre order the most delicious, scrumptious mouthwatering Christmas puddings around.  If your not a Christmas pudding fan, don't worry you can also pre order a delectable chocolate pudding instead (or maybe as well!) Both puddings are £5 with the school making profit on every pudding sold.  Each pudding is personalised with the school logo, so would make an excellent gift for those relatives that you're never sure what to buy them!
Thank you for your continued support, and from all the POWSA committee have a wonderful half term.

Non ICT day

Charlie and Lola have been very busy getting ready for tomorrow's Non ICT day.
Remember, all teachers and children cannot use computers or other technology in school! There will be no blogging, no typing, no googling, no surfing. There will certainly be no interactive white boarding, no tweeting, no ipadding, no videoing and certainly no tomatoes!
All children need to be on the lookout because if they catch their teacher using any ICT they will have to pay a 50p fine!
Thank you
p.s.  Donations to POWSA for school equipment will be welcomed (as always!!)

Meeting tonight!

Hi there everyone,
Just to say that POWSA are meeting tonight, 19.45 at the Poet Laureate on Poundbury.
As we are heading into one of our busiest periods with the Christmas fair coming up, it would be great to see some new faces.  DON'T PANIC, there is no expectation that you will volunteer for anything, but its a great opportunity to meet other parents, have a drink, relax (without the kids) and have a go at raising some money for the school.
Hope to see you there

Kate (POWSA)

Weekend reminder!

Just a quick reminder about all that is happening at the moment.
Firstly, the Scholastic book fair is going strong with many titles selling fast, Don't miss out!! The book fair will be open after school tomorrow (Fri) and on Monday so hurry, hurry, hurry.
Secondly, don't forget to send back your pre-orders for the most delicious, tempting, scrumptious Christmas puddings going. There is a choice of Traditional or a Triple chocolate pudding, but why not make life easier and have one of each!  For each pudding sold POWSA makes profit for the school.
Finally, don't forget that Non ICT day is coming up on 24th October and everyone is going to have to be super stealthy and focused if we're going to catch Mr Spracklen or Miss Johnson using their computer or iPads!
Have a fab weekend
POWSA

Non-ICT Day!

I have this little sister Lola, she is small and very funny.  Next Wednesday (the 24th of October) will be a non-ICT day.  That means all the children, including Lola and all the teachers cannot use computers or other technology in school!
There will be no blogging, no typing, no googling, no surfing.
There will certainly be no interactive white boarding, no tweeting, no ipadding, no videoing and certainly no tomatoes!
Lola is looking forward to catching out her teachers, if they use some ICT, they have to pay a 50p fine!  Hopefully all the children will help Lola and raise funds for the school.
Thank you
Charlie (and the POWSA Committee)
PS donations to POWSA for school equipment will be welcomed (as always!!)

Scholastic Book Fair!!

Just a quick reminder that the scholastic book fair starts today.  The books are available to browse by both children and parents after school Wed-Mon and at the parents evening tonight.
Why not stock up on a few Christmas presents, or introduce your kids to another fantastic author?
Once our target has been reached, the school receive 60% of the profit back to spend on books for school.  This has proven a very profitable venture in the past and we hope to replicate the success again this year!
